The past two years have been an exploratory journey in searching for my identity and voice. After a 23-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, I am discovering who I am beyond the uniform and service to the country. Formally trained in photography and photojournalism, I am naturally drawn to the lens-based arts. The Visual Arts Diploma Program at Camosun College has since opened my world of self-expression through ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and time-based mediums. My work is an introspection through visual forms and their potential to speak to mental and spiritual health. It has shed light on the scars, imperfections, and beauty that can emerge from the brokenness; a subtle reminder that I am still standing.
